Course Description:
This course is designed to give artists an introduction to the practice of drawing the human body from life. Throughout class students will be introduced to materials and studio practices that will make this potentially daunting process, enjoyable and straightforward. Students will have the opportunity to work from a live model and will receive guidance according to their goals. Topics covered will include: gesture, construction, anatomy and contour exercises. This course is for the beginner, or anyone looking to review the core fundamentals. This class includes sessions with a nude model.
Accessibility note: This class will take place on the second level of the building. We unfortunately do not have an elevator or stair lift at this time. Students enrolled in the class will need to be able to navigate the stairs to access the classroom. We are happy to assist in any way we can to make this more manageable for students with mobility constraints.
