Class Description:

This class introduces artists to the fundamental principles of oil painting. Within this 10 week course students will cover everything between the classical techniques used by the masters to the new innovations and industry standards in the world of oil painting. Using the traditional subject matter of landscape and portrait compositions, artists will learn crucial skill sets from underpainting, grisaille, colour mixing, glazing and more.

A list of recommended materials will be sent to students prior to the beginning of the course.

Accessibility note: This class will take place on the second level of the building. We unfortunately do not have an elevator or stair lift at this time. Students enrolled in the class will need to be able to navigate the stairs to access the classroom. We are happy to assist in any way we can to make this more manageable for students with mobility constraints.
